CC TAG6
Protection of the CC Pool from the illegal introduction of fake poor quality containers
The strength of the CC Pool System is that the CC Container is exchangeable between customers and users. To keep the pool system fair and protect it from the illegal introduction of fake containers, it is necessary to replace the CC TAG label from time to time. This will help exclude illegal and unregistered containers from the CC Pool. Therefore, as of January 6th, 2025, only CC Containers with a CC TAG6 label and a CC metal plate will be accepted or recognised as being in the CC Pool.
Engineered with the latest RFID technology, the new label makes it easier to authenticate the containers that are a legitimate part of the CC Pool.
Benefits of CC TAG6
- Robust design: smaller in size and improved quality due to the use of stronger material compared to the CC TAG5.
- Easier to identify misuse: removing the label from a CC Container on purpose and mounting it on to another container, is clearly visible.
- Authentication via app: advanced features have been added to better maintain the authentication of original CC TAG6 labels. For example, with a second authentication method by scanning the label with an app on your mobile phone.
CC TAG6 relabel process
Container Centralen will deliver the new CC TAG6 labels via post. Prior to the shipment of your package, your delivery address must be confirmed via an email from CC. The number of labels sent is based on the amount of contracted CC Container bases as per September 1st, 2024. All customers can easily mount the new labels themselves. To compensate your time and effort we will reimburse* you 0.35 eurocents for the combination of removing the CC TAG5 and mounting the new CC TAG6 label for each CC Container base you have under contract in 2024. The reimbursement will be applied to your Pool Fee and or Fixed Term Year hire ** invoice 2025.
*Please note that you will not receive a reimbursement for only the removal of the CC TAG5 label, it only applies to the number of CC bases for which you attach a new CC TAG6 label.
**Fixed Term Year hire contracts existing in 2024 with a prolongation date in 2025.
FAQ
The relabelling campaign
The strength of the CC Pool System is that the CC Container is exchangeable between customers and users. Unfortunately, this also creates opportunities for misuse leading to situations where users have more CC items in use than on contract. To keep the Pool system fair and protect it from misusers and the illegal introduction of fake containers, it is necessary to replace the CC label regularly.
People that have more CC Containers in use than under contract we call ‘free-riders’. For example, they use 200 CC Containers in the CC Pool System, but only pay for 100 CC Containers.
During the relabelling campaign, we reach out to all CC customers with an active contract for CC Container bases. The number of labels we send to you is based on the amount of contracted CC Container bases on the 1st of September 2024. The labels are dispatched in November and December 2024 to the delivery address that is registered at Container Centralen.
Based on your existing contract volume at Container Centralen on September 2024, you will receive correspondingly the same quantity of CC TAG6 labels (excluded are short term hire contracts expiring before January 6th 2025). In case you expand your contract quantity from September 1st, 2024, you will receive the additional labels in a separate parcel delivery.
The primary contact person will receive an email from our shipping agency. In this email you will find a track and trace code. By clicking on that code, you can follow your package.
In June 2024 the person we have listed as the primary contact at your company will receive an email from Container Centralen with the option to change the primary contact details and the delivery address. If you missed this email, you can change your details in My CC, or send an email to our Customer Service desk, preferably before 1st September 2024.
The primary contact person will receive a delivery notification on email from our shipment agency, with the option to change the delivery day. The delivery time will always be during working hours so this cannot be changed.
Yes, you must sign on a PDA from the delivery person as proof for receiving the package with the new CC TAG6 labels. Without a signature delivery is not possible.
CC expects to deliver all CCTAG6 labels between the 1st of November and the 15th of December 2024.
Container Centralen has a legal obligation to register per customer the CC TAG6 labels handed over for rented CC Containers and the one’s for CC Containers on a PPA (old contract type is SLS or RM) contract. Therefore, the CC TAG6 label shipment is recognisable as registered on rental or PPA contract to you. If possible, Container Centralen will try to pack both shipments in one box.
Yes, Container Centralen registers all CC TAG6 labels per customer and contract type (rental or PPA). The RFID chip contains a unique code.
If labels are mounted on the wrong containers CC is able to contact the customer to correct it. Furthermore, we use this information in legal cases to trace the origin of labels.
Please send an email to CC customer services.
Mounting the CC TAG6 label
In the package with CC TAG6 labels you will find mounting instruction. As of November, we will add visual instructions on our website.
It is important that all the labels we send you are mounted on original CC Containers. The CC Containers that are a legitimate part of the CC Pool are marked with a CC metal plate and have a CC TAG5 attached to the base.
We have nearly 4 million CC Containers rotating in the pool, of which only 5% passes through a CC depot annually. This means we need to work together to make the relabelling happen. Therefore, our customers need to remove the CC TAG5 labels and mount the new CC TAG6 labels to their CC Containers.
The compensation fee for removing CC TAG5 and mounting CC TAG6 is in total EUR 0.35 per CC Container. This will be credited on your Pool Fee invoice in 2025 and/or existing year hire contract in 2025 (contract started in or before 2024).
To make the new CC TAG6 label more clearly visible on the hooks of our CC Container bases. CC remove the old labels on each base when they end up in our depot, but annually only 5% end up at a CC depot. Therefore, we need your support to make the mounting process for the CC TAG6 easier. Of course, we will reimburse you for your efforts via the compensation fee. Please note you will not receive a reimbursement for only the removal of the CC TAG5 label, it only applies to the number of CC bases for which you also attach a new CC TAG6 label.
Yes, you can, it will help to clean the hooks of the bases. Please note: no compensation fee applies.
Authentication
To be sure that you receive a CC Container with an original CC TAG6 label you can authenticate the RFID chip in the label with a RFID scanner in combination with the CC4scanner app. CC has a unique Brand Identifier code in the RFID which can be authenticated by the RFID scanner without the need of an online connection with Wi-Fi or Internet.
For customers who do not have a RFID scanner, CC developed a second authentication method via a mobile phone app (Android and IOS). Details about the app will be shared in November 2024.
The HH85 scanner can be used, similar to the CC TAG5 authentication. The CC4scanner app will be updated automatically if the scanners are connected to the internet on the 6th of January 2025. After completion of the app update the CC TAG5 is not scannable anymore with the HH85 scanners. To expand the choice of RFID scanners, CC is working on adding the Zebra scanner to our range.
Yes, the HH85 scanners are updated automatically when the scanners are connected to the internet on the 6th of January 2025 or after this date.
CC supported RFID scanners can be purchased in the webshop of Lyngsoe, a third-party who installs the app on the device and supports devices for a minimum of 2 years. You can find more details about ordering scanners here.
CC will launch an app (Android and iOS) for smartphones as an alternative for RFID authentication of the CC TAG6 label. With the installed app you can authenticate the CC TAG6 label based on a combination of visual techniques. This authentication method is more time consuming and less accurate compared to RFID authentication. Therefore, RFID scanning is the preferred authentication method and in case of doubts the RFID scan result prevails over the smartphone method.
The leading authentication method for CC will remain the RFID authentication. In case of doubts the RFID scan result prevails over the smartphone method.
Container Centralen will do its utmost to protect the CC Container Pool and will act when someone infringes the IP rights of Container Centralen. Any party infringing our IP rights will be brought to justice and will be excluded from the CC Container Pool. To avoid logistic disturbance CC will replace a limited number of fake TAG6 labels for an original CC TAG6 label. These incidents will be recorded and the customer who hands in these containers with a fake label will be informed and invoiced. CC will charge € 30 euro pool protection fee per fake label. When the number of fake labels exceeds a threshold, further action will be taken.
You should refuse the CC Container base delivery. If you mistakenly have accepted one or more fake labels, you should remove them. Having fake labels in your possession is unlawful and punishable. Fake labels (together with relevant contact details of the provider) can be exchanged at Container Centralen for € 30 per label. We advise our customers to send a corresponding invoice to the provider of the containers with the fake labels (customer or supplier etc..). Reference is made to article 4.3 of the General Conditions CC Container system. CC will monitor and analyses the quantity and type of fakes when a customer requests an exchange.
Re-use
Reuse is if someone opens and removes a mounted CC TAG6 label and re-mount it on another container base. In this case, they intentionally misused the Identification Marks of the CC Container system on purpose. This improper use cannot be accepted.
Re-used labels are labels that have been purposely damaged before placing them on a container base that does not have a CC TAG6 label. When the container has no CC TAG6 label it is not part of the CC Pool system and will not be repaired and maintained by Container Centralen. By removing a CC TAG6 label and mounting it to another container base, Container Centralen will suddenly have two containers to repair which leads to extra costs for CC and their customers which is not fair and not acceptable.
Re-use/ manipulation of the CC TAG6 label can be identified by scanning and/or visual inspection. More identification details will follow later.
When a CC Container base with a re-used label is handed in at a CC Depot, CC will record this incident and replace the re-used label for a new original CC TAG6 label. The sender of this CC Container base will be invoiced a pool protection fee of € 30 euro per label. CC will record all incidents and will take additional action if necessary.
You should refuse the CC Container base with the re-used/damaged label upon delivery. For further handling instructions, please refer to the answer on question ‘What do I have to do if I find a fake label?’.
The new CCTAG6 will be very difficult to damage in normal use, only misuse or abuse can cause serious damage. If you damage the CC TAG6 label you can remove the damaged label and send it to Container Centralen in Hoofddorp and register an exchange request in My CC. If it is an original broken CC TAG6 label you receive a new label for a pool protection fee of € 30, (because the new label can only be damaged by misuse); for fake labels received, no new labels will be delivered and no invoice will be raised, but we will register that you have handed in fake labels.

It is important that all the labels we send you are mounted on original CC Containers. The CC Containers that are a legitimate part of the CC Pool are marked with a CC metal plate and preferably have a CC TAG5 attached to the base, see also our quality requirements.
